Airbnb is looking for volunteers to spend the summer in Italy

What are you doing next summer? How about spending an all-expenses-paid holiday in Italy, more specifically in the town of Grottole (in the south of the country)? If this name does not mean anything to you, it is normal:it is a small typical village with olive fields, vineyards, stone houses and castles... but which has only 300 inhabitants on the year (and hundreds of empty homes). And tourism is becoming increasingly rare there, with holidaymakers preferring to go to larger cities. If you had always dreamed of discovering rural Italy, now is your chance:Airbnb is organizing a recruitment campaign to find 4 lucky people who will spend the summer in the village. Yes, all summer, i.e. 3 months. We said summer vacation…

Immerse yourself in Italian culture

During these 3 months, little things will still be asked of the 4 expatriates:the day will start with a cappuccino (there's worse!) and an Italian lesson, before going to plant fruits and vegetables alongside a farmer, to take a cooking class with Rosa, to take a ride in a Piaggio Ape to discover the region and to end the day with an aperitivo with the inhabitants of Grottole. On site, all expenses will be covered, and a salary of €900 per month will even be paid. Not bad is not it ? For this operation, Airbnb is partnering with the Wonder Grottole association, responsible for promoting local tourism. The idea is to revitalize the village and the whole region, and by the way, to make people talk about this pretty little traditional village! It is already successful.

To have a chance of being one of the 4 lucky ones who will spend the summer under the Italian sun, you must be 18 years old, be able to make yourself available from June to August 2019 and answer a short form to explain your motivation. Interested?
