Eco-volunteering in Jamaica

Where do we sleep?

At Sandals Ochi Beach Resort.

Where exactly?

In Ocho Rios, on Jamaica's unspoiled north coast.

Why is it good?

It is a large “all inclusive” resort, separated in two by the road from the seaside:at the top the hills with lush vegetation, at the bottom the marina with direct access to the beach. And shuttles to reach the two territories in 5 minutes. Nice atmosphere, caring staff, lots of activities included (snorkeling, Pilates, kayaking, stand-up paddle, karaoke, reggae dancing, etc.), swimming pools, a host of different restaurants, and a super cute speakeasy bar, with shows of cabaret.

What are we doing around?

On site, Island Routes offers tours (paying) of the island by old bus, by bicycle, by catamaran... And above all, there are the solidarity activities (in return for donations) offered by the Sandals Foundation linked to the hotel, which is involved in education and ecology in Jamaica. We participate in writing and reading workshops with children in a primary school class; helping baby turtles reach the sea; we cooperate in the coral nursery or, for those who have a good level of diving, we pass a special diploma which gives the right to clean the coral on the barrier. Needless to say, you don't come back unscathed from experiences like these!

We reserve!

From €3,081 per week for 2 all inclusive, flights included. sandals.fr, sandalsfoundation.org.
