Tourism favourite:the Nigloland park

Where exactly is it?

In Dolancourt, in the heart of the Orient Forest, less than 150 kilometers from the Paris region.

Why do we love?

First, for the (more than) green setting. Arriving on the scene, we are almost disappointed:emerging in the middle of the vines, half hidden in the forest, a Ferris wheel and what seems to be a big 8. And that's it?! We park a little perplexed, but we will quickly understand, once inside, that this vegetation which hides the park is also its best asset. Then for the many attractions and the quality of the catering (see below).

What do we do there?

We take a breath of fresh air and chlorophyll while having fun. With such a diversity of attractions – 39 in total! – impossible to get bored. From the largest rotating free-fall tower in the world (100 m drop at 115 km/h!) to the Africa Cruise, a safari-cruise in the middle of the jungle, there is something for everyone, including less than 1 meter who will be able to experience their first sensations (very gently all the same) with the Caterpillar for example.

Don't miss:the incredible decorations and activities programmed as part of the Halloween celebrations (every weekend in October and every day during the All Saints' Day holidays). With more than 60 tons of pumpkins, 1,500 fall flowers, 500 straw bales, 250 skeletons and some 300 spiders, the park pulled out all the stops to get us in the mood as soon as we arrive.

What are we eating?

A roast chicken or a pan-fried lumberjack with fries at La Taverne or the Canada Bar, a complete galette at the Crêperie Canadienne, all three restaurants in the park. The good idea? Eat outside around real campfires set up here and there on the terrace. It warms up, and it really has its charm. In the evening, don't miss the gourmet buffet at the adjoining Hôtel des Pirates, whether you sleep there or not. Labeled 4 stars, this establishment really impressed us with the quality of its catering! We have rarely seen so much choice and quality in a park hotel buffet:from the scallop skewer to the risotto with porcini mushrooms, cooked to the minute in front of us in an open kitchen, through the diversity of desserts or the profusion of goji berries at breakfast, a real gourmet buffet worthy of the name, attentive staff and cooks who took great care to advise us. Most ? Free evening entertainment for children (make-up, balloon sculpture, magic shows, etc.).

What are we visiting around?

Troyes for its magnificent half-timbered houses and also its many factory outlets, the first of their kind.

Here we go!
