The 4 basic rules for a good road trip

Preparing a good playlist

A road trip without music is like Roland-Garros without sunshine… it sucks! Preparing your playlist before leaving is essential. We don't want to miss this scene that we've imagined a thousand times:windows rolled down, hair in the wind, singing at the top of our voices. Basic all the same, right? And be careful, we do not choose songs likely to make us sad, nostalgic, etc. Yes, our ex's favorite song should be banned (although it's very cool, no doubt about it). On a road trip, we promote good humor and no one wants to be stuck with a killjoy during this wonderful experience. Hakuna matataaaaa, that's a good song! Well, everyone has their own tastes...

Always up for it

In our daily lives, we can afford to refuse to go to this bar for the 123rd time. But on a road trip, no, everything is new! So we make "YES" the watchword of this adventure (as far as is reasonable of course... the idea is not to have a bad vacation either by doing things that don't make us happy at all ). We often regret saying no when others tell us how cool their outing was (does that mean anything to you?), so this time we temporarily leave our comfort zone and stay open to all possibilities! Yes Yes Yes ! Let's go!

Do not leave with just any friend

We love them, our friends, but that's not always enough. There is a difference between spending an evening with them and living 24 hours a day with them. Let it be said:we will see the person(s) in their worst states and the proximity caused can bring out a naturalness that we did not yet know... and which can sometimes be difficult to live with (and to bear) . Didn't we know that Vaness snored like a tractor, that she had all kinds of annoying little quirks or that she was (really) not patient? Too late ! Good to know:going alone can also be a great experience!

Establish rules before departure

Family, darling, friend... no matter who is accompanying us, the pre-departure discussion is necessary to be on the same wavelength! On a road trip, a small detail can quickly turn everything upside down. An example ? Different musical tastes, not the same vision of travel, not the same budget, not the same way of life (if you want to get up and go on an adventure at 8 a.m., when the other goes to bed )… Before doing the backpacks, a good discussion is necessary to put everything flat, the desires, the objectives, in short, everything to avoid possible misunderstandings which could harm this experience, which must rhyme with happiness and fun!
