Go to Croatia in the footsteps of Game of Thrones 5!

Season 5 of Game of Thrones, the famous HBO television series, adapted from George Martin's novels "A Song of Ice and Fire", puts Croatia in the spotlight once again. We'll take you to the filming locations...

Croatian websites from previous seasons

Dubrovnik is since season 2 the official seat of Port-Réal, the capital of the kingdom of the Seven Kingdoms. Many scenes from seasons 2 and 3 of Game of Thrones have already been shot in Croatia:the Iron Throne in Dubrovnik of course (Fort Lovrijenac, Fortress St Laurent), but also scenes on the island of Lokrum and the arboretum of Trsteno. For season 4, Dubrovnik remained the site of the infamous King's Landing, and other scenes were shot in Split, Klis Fortress, Perun Quarry, Antonicin Mill-Inn.

The filming of season 5

Dubrovnik remains the site of the Iron Throne, object of all desires. Filming for season 5 continues throughout the city of Split, on Duilovo beach, but also at Villa Dalmacija which will represent Dorne in season 5. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Sibenik is one of the new sites of filming of this fifth season. Scenes were also shot in Kastela, specifically in Kastel Gomilica. The village could be Braavos… Finally, the Topana fortress and the impressive stadium of Imotski, in the hinterland of Split, could integrate the filming.
