How do you like Landal Seawest with children and what is there to do?

We've been talking about it for years, but this year Denmark was finally on the agenda. A stay at Landal Seawest, a holiday park in Denmark, located in West Jutland close to the coast. I would like to tell you how we liked Landal Denmark and what we did during our holiday.

⇒ Directly to the Landal Greenparks website

We had a two week vacation this summer. The first week we were in a safari tent on a Lago Maggiore campsite and now -by invitation- in a house of Landal Seawest, also called Dayz Seawest. You could say two very different ways of celebrating a holiday. For the first you drive more than 12 hours to the south and for this holiday about 12 hours to the north. Normally a bit shorter by the way, but we had some bad luck on the way with the road works in Germany. According to the navigation system, Landal Seawest is at least almost 800 kilometers away from Schijndel, roughly 8 hours. So doable in one day.

Landal Seawest holiday-park Denmark

We've been to a Landal park before and we've always liked it so far. Last year, for example, we went to Austria with the children during the holidays. And there we also stayed in a Landal holiday park. Fantastically clean accommodation and beautiful nature. We are therefore very curious how Denmark will go. What can we expect from nature there and what does Landal Seawest look like compared to what we are used to from Landal?

Because there is, of course, a difference. One Landal park is not the other. I have never come across a Landal holiday park before that was not okay, but the facilities can differ slightly. In this blog everything about Landal Seawest and the facilities there.

Landal Seawest reception

When we arrive we have to look for the reception 😉 . To this day I don't know if we just didn't look closely or if it is indeed not indicated. But are you going to Landal Seawest and looking for the reception? Then you just have to be in the pool building. So as soon as you enter the holiday park you turn right into the parking lot and you can enter the building through the revolving door. You will then automatically pass the reception where you can register.

No sooner said than done. A very friendly woman helps us further and before we know it we are driving to our house. We are staying in house number 100 (the same house where the Bellinga's were the week before, Lotte will find out later).

By the way, remember that you book your stay without electricity costs, heating and water consumption. You have to pay these costs afterwards, at the reception. For an average family of four people, that comes out to about € 90.00 per week. Good to know!

Arrival at the house at Landal Denmark

Well, as usual the children are almost unbearable. They shoot out of the car towards the front door of our house and are very happy when they see the combination lock. No key but a code to get in. Nice! “I, I, I” sounds. “No, not me” sounds over it again. “Yes but I said it first” ... *sigh*

I don't know how this goes with you, but with us they can argue about the -to me- most trivial matters. Fortunately, the solution is near! I agree that one person may always open the door and that the other may always close the door. Because when you leave, the door must also be locked again with the numerical code. Fortunately, they can agree with my solution and the healthy tension takes over again. Because the rooms also have to be 'divided' and what does the rest of the house look like? Of course they are also curious about that.

By the way, there are different types of accommodations at Landal Seawest, we stayed in a 6-person detached bungalow, quite luxurious for 4 people! So we lack nothing. There is more than enough space and the inventory is also complete. Keep in mind that the houses are mostly private property. One house is therefore not the other 😉 , there can be quite a bit of difference in the furniture and the like.

I can name everything else, but I think the photos already give you a good impression. Oh, one more thing… every house has its own WiFi and that makes them happy too.

Big thumbs up for the hot tub by the way, the kids enjoyed it a lot and while I was able to work a bit on vacation! We ourselves loved that breakfast was brought every morning, so we could start the day right.

The look &feel of this Landal holiday park

Landal Seawest is a completely different holiday park than the Landal parks where we have been so far. The whole park has a Scandinavian feel due to the construction of the houses and the panoramic view that the park offers. You could also say 'bald' but personally I thought it was something.

Besides the open nature of Dayz Seawest, there is also plenty to do in this park. I will explain the facilities for you.

The Landal Seawest-tropical swimming-pool

As I mentioned, every Landal park is different. We think Landal Seawest has a very nice swimming pool. Not overly large, but certainly not small. It's very clean, there are two fantastic slides (one that is partly dark and one that you go in with a big tire) and yes… waves! In addition, you can simply play with a ball in the pool, there are mats in the water and fun other play equipment. If you want to warm up, you go into the bubble bath, read in the comfortable loungers (which you don't have to argue about, there are plenty) and last but not least, let yourself be carried away in the current of the cave.

A nice swimming pool, nice and clear and yet enough to do to enjoy yourself for a few hours. With regard to showering, a 'preliminary warning'. You shower naked (men and women separately), and also before entering the pool. Do not forget to wash your hair (or at least make it wet), otherwise you will be sent back. Been there, done that .

Indoor and outdoor play

What they have thought carefully about are the play options for young and old. Since the weather in Denmark is not always fantastic and cannot be predicted well, it is nice that you can play indoors and outdoors.

There is a decent playground next to the pool with fun climbing equipment, regular trampolines and an air trampoline. You often come across the latter in Denmark.

If the weather is less, you can also go inside to enjoy yourself. From badminton to bowling and from an indoor play paradise to miniature golf and billiards, you will find it all.

I must honestly say that we have not done anything with this. The weather was so beautiful that we just wanted to go to Denmark to explore the country further. Although we did take a dip in the lovely pool on the first day.

Restaurants at Landal Seawest in Denmark

There are three restaurants where you can enjoy an excellent meal with the whole family. Immediately after the swim we had a 'quick bite' in the Diner &Café part. Delicious eaten there! Enough choice of sandwiches, burgers, fries, but also something like kebab.

We also once enjoyed the dinner buffet in the Family Buffet restaurant. That wasn't bad, but personally I wouldn't choose that again, although the kids also had a good meal there. I am more of an à la carte type.

There is also a Pizzeria Steakhouse where we would have liked to have eaten again, but unfortunately we didn't get around to it.

By the way, one of my fellow bloggers has written a blog about the best rural park, perhaps also interesting to read?

What can you do near Landal Seawest ?

Despite the fact that we had to cut short our holiday halfway through due to the death of my dear dad, we did a lot in the days that we stayed at Landal Seawest. There is a lot to do and see in Denmark, and we would like to go back again to redo our holiday. There is still too much on our to-do list.

Beaches nearby

Landal Seawest is very close to all kinds of beautiful beaches and dune areas. For example, we have been to Henne beach ourselves.

Not only the beach itself is very beautiful there (and not too crowded), but the village itself is also cozy. You have cozy shops, a creperie and nice terraces. When we arrived there, a nice band was playing on one of the terraces. So every reason to enjoy some time in the sun.

WOWpark Denmark

What is in any case more than worthwhile and which I have already written extensively about, is a visit to the WOWpark in Skjern Denmark. This park is a half hour drive from Landal Seawest.

Seal safari in Thyborøn

Furthermore, you can indulge yourself if you drive up along the coast. A beautiful lighthouse, beautiful beaches, heaps of bunkers, sand sculptures and much more. But I will come back to that in another blog. However, if you are planning a holiday to Denmark and are looking for something to do, the seal safari Jyllandsakvariet is a must see in my opinion.

Ribe

The oldest town in Scandinavia. It is close to Esbjerg and if you have the time Ribe is definitely worth a visit. Beautiful streets with ditto houses and the best ice cream in all of Denmark. Long live social media, because when I posted a photo on Instagram I got that tip about the ice cream from a follower. Of course we had to go there too.

Legoland

Well, indispensable of course. If you go to Landal Seawest, a visit to Legoland Denmark is of course obvious. Unfortunately that has not been possible anymore. Legoland was scheduled for Wednesday, the day we finally drove home early.
